It is simple to clean the Fanaway retractable blade fan. To do this, you may need a second person to help you.

First, you need to pull the blade out when the fan is turned off. To do this, take off the two blades and slowly pull them out in the same direction that the blade usually open. The mechanism is fairly tight so you need to use a bit of pressure to pull them out.

Make sure you pull the two blades at the same time as pulling just one is too much pressure on one blade and could cause damage. As you hold the blades out, your helper can wipe them down with warm soapy water on a cloth.
